Esta noche, TNA Wrestling presenta una emisión especial de 3 horas, pues el especial Global iMPACT 2 será transmitido inmediatamente después de terminar iMPACT. El especial incluye las luchas en las que participaron los elementos TNA en el Wrestle Kingdom III de NJPW, en el mes de enero en el Tokyo Dome
Cobertura:
- Recapitulación de la rivalidad entre Mick Foley vs. Abyss.
- Abyss llega al ring con sus tachuelas y reta a Foley para Bound for Glory. Llega Mick Foley, y le dice a Chris que con gusto acepta pero no podrá usar sus tachelas, y que además en el encuentro tendrán un referí invitado, el Dr. Steve, que aparece con Daffney, entre los tres hacen ver su suerte a Abyss, que es auxiliado al final por Matt Morgan para que los rudos huyan.
- Eric Young habla de la supremacia de World Elite y está esperando a ver cuando se disculpará Kurt Angle
- Después del corte comercial, JB está con MEM, Angle le vuelve a exigir respeto a Young.
- 1) TNA Legends Championship: Kevin Nash © venció a Hernández por DQ.
- The Supermex está dominando la lucha, Nash está a punto de perder, cuando entra Eric Young. Le aplica al latino su martinete, y después le regresa a Nash su cinturón, y le dice que ahora está en deuda con él. Nash retiene por descalificación por la intervención de Eric.
- Abyss alcanza a Matt Morgan en le pasillo, le da las gracias por ayudarlo esta noche, y espera que hagan un buen trabajo juntos.
- Eric Young le propone a Nash que ponga en juego el título de leyendas contra Hernandez en Bound for Glory, asi el se vengará del Supermex y Nash conservará el título, ambos luchadores están de acuerdo.
- Lauren con Hernandez, que está muy lastimado y sentencia a Young para su lucha en Bound for Glory.
- 2) Amazing Red venció a Samoa Joe por el título de la División X.
- Amazing cobra su oportunidad ganada por el título la semana pasada, Samoa lo domina fácilmente, luego llega The Boss y con aprobación del referí sube y aplica un chockslam a Joe, el samoano está medio noqueado, Amazing aprovecha la confusión, para aplicar dos planchas y luego cubrir a Samoa Joe, para ser el nuevo campeón de la División X.
- Samoa Joe esta con Luaren y muy molesto le declara la guerra a The Boss, Bobby Lanshley.
- 3) Homicide y The Pope vs. Suicide y Daniels.
- Daniels es puesto fuera de combate, luego los rudos hacen trizas a Suicide, cuando Daniels regresa es muy tarde, ya están fuera de acción, The Pope D´Angelo Dinero cubre al Ángel Caído.
- Kurt Angle en vestidores, le pregunta a Nash porque anda haciendo tratos con Eric sin tomar en cuanta a la Mafia, entonces Nash le contesta que lo hizo porque así conviene a sus intereses.
- Firma del contrato para apostar los dos títulos de parejas IWGP y TNA. Presentes los restadores y campeones: The Britsh Invasión, MEM, TEAM 3D y Beer Money Inc. Mike Tenay explica las condiciones cuando Booker T cuestiona la calidad de los rivales Robert Roode arremete, y se convierte en una trifulca. Arriba del ring Booker quiere imponerse, pero Roode lo vence y lo pone sobre una mesa, esta a punto de volar cuando el tercer británico entra a salvar, luego llega Brother Devon. Y es depositado en la mesa por el coloso sajón, los MEM se muestran victoriosos con los cuatro cinturones, pero llegan los British Invasión y los ponen en su lugar, al final la supremacía es para los británicos.
- 4) Lucha de eliminación en equipos: Sarita, Taylor Wilde, Hamada & Christy Hemme vs. Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, Alissa Flash, & Traci Brooks
- Mike Tenay se refiere al equipo técnico, como la embajadas de las naciones unidas en TNA, ya que a Sarita la consideran mexicana.
- Traci cubre a Hemme. Alissa y Hamada son eliminadas por conteo fuera. Velvet cubre a Taylor. Sarita cubre a Traci. Sarita cubre a Velvet. Lacey llega y patea a Sarita para que Madison cubra y gane.
- Angle y Foley hablan de su peligrosa alianza y de la lucha de esta noche, en la oficina de Foley.
- Sting está en el ring para darle una respuesta a AJ Styles a su pregunta de si está listo para retirarse, el dice que aún está con ánimos para ganar y que agradece que Styles lo quiera enfrentar, entonces llega Kurt Angle a atacar a ambos, diciendo que el programa debería ser la hora de las citas y no iMPACT!, que sólo les falta darse un beso, cuestiona a Sting y le dice qued deberá ganar, pero antes quiere retar a Styles para una lucha la próxima semana. Kurt sube al ring y ataca a Sting, entonces llega Styles al salva y acepta la lucha.
- AJ con Lauren hablan de su lucha contra Angle la próxima semana en Súper IMPACT!
- The Motor City Machine Guns, presentan sus nuevo video Musical.
- Samoa Joe y Bobby Lanshley se dan con todo tras bastidores.
- Los comentaristas hacen una recapitulación de los ataques mutuos entra Lanshley y Joe.
- 5) TNA Knockout Women’s Championship: ODB vs Tara
- Tara (acompañada de su tarantula Poison) llega al ring muy segura, pero en eso aparece Awesome Kong ataca So Cal Val (como anunciadora del encuentro y manejadora de la campana), le quita la tarántula, y Tara se distrae y patea a Kong, pero la deja lista para que ODB cubra Tara y retenga el título.
- 6) Kurt Angle & Mick Foley vs “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan & Abyss
- Matt Morgan se impone a Foley que intenta usar su garfio mandibular, consiguiendo la victoria para Abyss y él
- Fin del show.
Pero los encuentros del Global iMPACT son realmente por encima del promedio:
- Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Riki Choshu, Masahiro Chono vs. Takashi Iizuka, Giant Bernard, Karl Anderson, Tomohiro Ishii
- Three-Way Match: Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) vs. IWGP Tag Team Champions Togi Makabe & Toru Yano vs. Tenzan & Kojima
- The Motor City Machine Guns vs. IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions “No Limit” (Naito & Yujiro)
El evento de NJPW también contó con Místico y Averno representando al CMLL, lamentablemente no serán parte de la transmisión
[Q6] Sting came to the ring in street clothes. He spoke about how he’s brought his best to the ring every time he’s stepped foot in the ring over the last 20 years. He said he was surprised when A.J. Styles offered him a shot at the TNA Title. He said his instant reaction was to say yes. “I still have the will to win,” Sting said enthusiastically.
Sting said he was going to lace his boots up one more time and bring his best. He said he can still get the job done. He said that if he doesn’t live up to his own expectations at BFG, “then it will be show time for the last time.” Sting’s music played and he started to leave the ring.
Kurt Angle came out and stopped him. Angle wanted to know if Sting was going to say he would retire. He said they should consider changing the name of the show from Impact to The View so that Sting and Styles could kiss each other’s asses for two full hours. Funny. Angle complained about Styles giving his buddy a title shot.
Angle said that Sting has to beat him to prove he’s the best. Sting got in Kurt’s face and said that if he wants to retire him he should do it now. He shoved Kurt and dared him to take “the old man out of his misery.” Three scrawny security guys stepped between Angle and Sting.
Kurt took a cheap shot and knocked Sting to the ground and applied the Ankle Lock. Styles ran out and ran off Kurt. Angle took the mic at ringside and said that Styles and Sting could fight at BFG, but he wanted Styles in a match next week. “You want me, you got me,” Styles responded. “We’ll settle this one way or another, Kurt”… [C]
Powell’s POV: I don’t like them taking attention away from a BFG main event that is already struggling to generate interest, but I guess they had to hype something for next week’s three-hour show.
Backstage, Lauren asked Styles if it was wise to challenge Kurt to a match just three days before BFG. He said it wasn’t wise, but it is necessary. Styles said he doesn’t feel good about the way he won the title and wants to answer all questions next week…
Powell’s POV: I like that. It’s good to see them acknowledge that Styles didn’t win on the best of terms and have him express the desire to prove himself next week.
Tenay and Taz ran through the pay-per-view lineup… A shot aired of Samoa Joe walking backstage and kicking something over…
[Q7] [C] The Motor City Machine Guns stood on the ramp. Chris Sabin said they’ve listen to the fans and Mick Foley. Alex Shelley said their old entrance music was actually responsible for making Consequences Creed throw up on Impact last week. Funny. They introduced their new video. It was an improvement, but it was cut off by Samoa Joe attacking them from behind.
Joe knocked down the Guns and then headed to the ring, where he called out Lashley. Bobby came out. Joe met him at ringside for a brawl. Joe got the better of Lashley and placed him on the Spanish announce table. Joe climbed onto a platform, leapt off, and dropped an elbow on Lashley that knocked over the table.
Powell’s POV: Good intensity, but I wish they would have kept these two apart until the pay-per-view. There’s something to be said for saving the first physicality between two new opponents until the big PPV match.
Don West quickly ran through the house show schedule…
The announcers recapped Joe’s attack on Lashley… Backstage, trainers checked on Lashley’s neck… Ring entrances for the next match took place. Highlights aired of ODB and Tara fighting last week…
[Q8] 5. ODB defeated Tara to retain the TNA Knockouts Title in 3:00. Tara had control early, but ODB hit a fallaway slam. At 1:40, Awesome Kong walked to ringside with a sledgehammer. Kong grabbed So Cal Val, hit her on the back of the head with the sledgehammer, and it pushed her face out so that it’s no longer so flat. Okay, I made up that part.
Kong forced Val to place Tara’s tarantula on the ground. Kong set up to destroy the spider, but Tara reached over the ropes and stopped her. ODB capitalized on the distraction by hitting Tara with a neck breaker for the win…
Backstage, Foley told Angle that “we’re ready.” Angle ran off in pursuit to ask Foley who “we” is… [C]
Powell’s POV: The women’s match was disappointing because of the silly finish. Just a set up for a likely three-way match at BFG. I’m not a fan of all the multi-person matches. Are they feeling pressure to put everyone on the show?
6. Kurt Angle and Mick Foley vs. Matt Morgan and Aybss. Stevie came out wearing a referee shirt with Daffney by his side. Referee Slick Johnson sent them away.

Originalmente estaba pautado este match en el cartel que incluia a TenKoji, pero por una lesion de Hiroyoshi Tenzan, creo que fue algo relacionado con un ojo, lo dejó fuera de actividad por algunos meses (hasta mayo).

No son en vivo, son matches que se dieron en la tradicional funcion del 4 de Enero en el Tokyo Dome por parte de NJPW.
Mistico y Averno si estuvieron en el evento, en la primera lucha.
